Gastronomy :

Because of its position bordering on three different regions le Valois
benefits from a remarkably rich gastronomy.
From the Ile de France- its cheeses: Brie de Meaux and Coulommiers.

From the Champagne
the prestigious drink, champagne.
But the extent and varied agricultural landscape affords very favourable conditions for an excellent local gastronomy.
The Crème Chantilly, well known and copied throughout France could not dispense with other products certainly less well known, is greatly relished
in the region.
The honey of Valois, the craftsman-brewed beers of Trumilly, the various forms of seasoning and the pâté de foie gras do honour to the country markets.
La Flamiche aux poireaux (pâté, salted ham, leeks, crème fraîche, milk, pepper, nutmeg.)
La Ficelle picarde (ham, mushrooms, eggs, flour,Swiss cheese, butter, eggs , nutmeg and sesoning)
La Tarte aux maroilles (leeks, cheese of Maoilles, pâté, eggs and cream)
are typical of the dishes much appreciated in the region.
